schmidt {family}

It was so nice to see the Schmidt’s again for another shoot! (First session shown here.) The kids seem to have already grown/matured so much, and this time they have a new addition to the family — little Drew was born a week before my daughter, so he is 6 months old as well! It was fun to see the whole family in an outdoor environment as it allowed the kids to just run around and be themselves. They still had the same amount of energy, just with a lot more space to show it!Β  Thankfully the weather cooperated long enough for us to get some great shots. Enjoy a sneak peek at their fun-filled family shoot. πŸ™‚

jack {2 years}

It’s always fun having the Treiber family over for a shoot. This time, Jack turned 2 years old! He is certainly growing up fast — becoming more handsome everyday, and he definitely knows how to show his charm….he decided make a move on my daughter (4.5 mos) and gave her her first “kiss” upon meeting her! haha… it was adorable, and her father and I approved. πŸ˜‰ Aside from that romantic moment, Jack was his usual energetic self, full of curiosity. His curly hair totally gives him that modelesque look, as well as his various poses. Oh, and he definitely likes his cookies. How could we get through a shoot without them? πŸ˜‰

Happy 2nd birthday to the Jack Attack!!

koch’s {family}

It was a pleasure to meet with the Koch’s, a sweet family of three, for a photo session in Elmwood Park. Lexi is an adorable little lady. Although shy around the camera, she liked to see the photo displayed on the screen afterwards, and that was enough of an incentive to smile. **A photographer’s trick for most little kids. πŸ˜‰ She also overflowed with excitement when her grandma and grandpa showed up for a few photos as well. Seeing her run to them was just too sweet. Meghan and Tony made their way up from Nebraska City for the shoot, and are soon making a move to Kearney. I wish them all the best as they approach a new chapter in their lives!

lindsey {6 months}

I still can’t get over how quickly children change in their first year. Lindsey is already 6 months and she has changed so much since our first newborn session together. –> newborn

She is no longer the little human we can mold into certain poses and who sleeps through the whole session. She now has an adorable little personality and definitely tells you when she needs/wants something. Her eyes and lashes are ridiculously gorgeous, of course stemming from her parents lovely features. She also has the ability to sit up and oh yeah, has definitely found her feet. πŸ˜‰ Enjoy a peek from a beautiful day’s shoot.

vienna rose {newborn}

What an adorable family I met last weekend. A lot of times, when looking through my lens, I can feel the love that families share for one another. And then again, editing these captured moments, I see it even more so. There is such a natural bond shown between this family in particular. Welcomed most recently, baby Vienna already has her parents wrapped around her finger. Born a day before Mother’s Day, it was the best gift and early surprise a mother could ask for. The other little man of the house, Kyren, has taken on the big brother role already and was showing off how much energy and excitement he had! πŸ˜‰ I can’t wait to capture sweet little Vienna and the whole family throughout her first year!

leo & parker {1 year}

It’s still March and it feels like it’s been summer in Omaha for quite awhile. Last weekend was another beautiful one, and I was happy to spend some of it in the park with Leo & Parker. Having just celebrated their 1 year, we captured just a few more moments in a casual environment, one that usually makes Parker smile nonstop… says mom. πŸ˜‰ While we got a few smirks in the very beginning, the heat took over and I think they both just wanted a nap. Even still, adorable family as always. I have a feeling they are going to get a lot of use out of the red wagon…the boys love it!

{1st birthday party}

Today Leo and Parker turn 1! They sure have come a long way since they were born… see newborn photos here and here . Last weekend was a fun-filled celebration with family and friends. When it came to cake smash time, neither one of them seemed to be too thrilled with the sugary frosting. Their facial expressions were priceless. Both boys seem so happy and are each developing their own little personalities. And, check out the hair! Love it. πŸ˜‰ Happy Birthday Leo and Parker!!!

jack {18 months}

I recently had my 6th session with Jack, and wow has he grown! I think his hair keeps getting more and more curly every time I see him.. too cute! Although he had his ups and downs during this session, his happy and sad faces are equally adorable. And, I am realizing that more and more kids tend to be easily entertained by electronics, specifically telephones. That kept him busy for awhile, and I think they often think that someone is really on the other end of the line! Oh, how I miss make-believe days sometimes… πŸ˜‰ As mentioned before, I’ve really enjoyed seeing Jack throughout his first years and getting to know his parents, Amanda and Owen. I am anticipating the day I hear that Jack will be a big brother….. no pressure guys. πŸ˜‰ Here’s a sneak peek from Jack’s 18 month session!

miles {7 months}

This little man will make your heart melt. At 7 months old now, I was excited to see Miles again at his second shoot with me. Here is his first session at just 3 months old.

He is still adorable as ever with those AMAZING blue eyes! Not only is he still happy as can be, he’s developing even more of a bubbly little personality. Unlike last time, he now knows how to use his crawling abilities…. right towards the camera. πŸ˜‰ He will probably be walking in no time! Thank you Mary and Kyle for coming to my place for a fun family shoot. I’ll be sad to see you move to CA, but hoping to sneak in at least one more shoot prior to your departure. πŸ™‚

I’m finding it amazing to have taken family photos in the middle of January and have it feel like a beautiful Fall day! Besides being a little windy, it was a great day to be outside. I enjoyed capturing some photos of our good friends, as they were really up for anything, including charging a huge group of geese…which were everywhere! Again.. in JANUARY? A great looking family and beautiful lighting made it an overall fun shoot!

lindsey {newborn}

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby… well, you know. πŸ™‚ I recently captured one of my first wedding couple’s newborn baby girl, Lindsey. It was a joy to have gotten to know them during their engagement session, and then to capture their wedding day, and now, seeing them in this new chapter of their lives brings a smile to my face. Lindsey is an absolute sweetie and was not afraid to get her snooze on during our session. πŸ˜‰ Joyce and Jeff seem like natural parents already, and I hope they enjoy every moment with their new little one. I can’t wait to capture her throughout her first year!

About 6 months ago, Emily Toland came into this world, beautiful as ever. It has been so much fun capturing the milestones of her life, starting with just before she was born. You can see the other sessions here:

Emily is growing up to be a classy little lady, just like her momma. πŸ˜‰ The outfits just keep getting more adorable too. And how about those blue eyes? Precious. I am so excited for her 1 year photos, as I can only imagine the cuteness that will be involved!

schmidt {family}

This week, I had a fun-filled shoot with the Schmidt family. It was a highly energetic time with much laughter. The kids are adorable and are excited to be welcoming their baby sister or brother (which they find out today!)Β  into the world come April! Janet is actually due just days before I am, and we recently discovered that we even share the same doctor! It’s a small world. I am very excited for them and hope to possibly see them back again once baby is born!

The Evans {family}

I was contacted recently by a sweet family who happened to meet some our friends at the hospital while delivering their baby. Their story was kind of similar to our friends in that their newest little boy decided to come early — a whole 3 months early!! After spending months in the hospital after his arrival, the Evans were able to take home their son, Cade, and feel so blessed to have a healthy son, along with their other daughter, Emma. It was such a privilege to photograph this family and learn about their story. Here are some sweet and playful moments from the days shoot. πŸ™‚

Leila {6 months}

Seriously, how much more cute can a little girl get? If she keeps wearing adorable clothing (look at that hat!), I might just take her home with me the next time I see them. πŸ˜‰ Leila was just over 6 months for this shoot, and she is just as happy as can be. Who can blame her though when she has such loving and fun parents to be around? That, and my amazing peekaboo skills around the camera made her crack a smile — actually, I give her grandma props on that as she was a big help in getting her attention during the shoot. πŸ™‚ We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to capture the fun and love within this family.Β  I’m privileged to call them my friends and am honored that they have asked me to capture these milestones within their lives.

Peterson family

It’s always a pleasure to spend time with the Peterson family. Awhile back, I photographed them with their first little girl, Brylee, which you can see here: http://www.leahbphoto.com/blog/2010/08/19/brylee/#more-586Β  Now that they have another addition to the family, Brookelynn, it was fun to capture them again at this moment in their lives. They are an adorable family with so much playfulness and love towards each other. And, I still can’t get over Brylee’s beautiful curly hair and now Brookelynn’s big blue eyes!

Hayden {1 year}

As recently mentioned on my facebook page, I had a shoot this last weekend with one of my very first clients. Little Hayden is now all grown up and turning 1 years old next week! Seeing him now standing on his own, it makes me realize how fast time goes, as it seems like just yesterday that we captured him when he could barely lift his head. His hair is still so adorable I can’t even stand it! Emily and Tony, you better watch out, I can tell this little guy is going to catch all the ladies’ attention later in life. πŸ˜‰ Thank you for coming to our home for the shoot! I have really enjoyed getting to know your family this last year.

{full of excitement}

I am truly a sap for babies…especially ones as adorable as the little girl, Isabelle, from yesterdays shoot. I called her a photographer’s dream baby, becauseΒ  she was so incredibly happy and smiling the whole time, and how about those amazing big blue eyes? Wow. It was too easy to get some great shots of this little one, who is just 6 months old.Β  Thank you to the Simpson family for coming to our home for the shoot! Enjoy the first Christmas with your beautiful little girl. πŸ™‚

{holiday bliss}

It was such a pleasure to photograph Amy and Marty Wolff, who met on the show TheΒ  Biggest Loser in 2007. Scott’s cousin introduced us to Amy, and I thought the story of how they met was so cute! They welcomed their first son, Blaine, about 16 months ago, and so I was thrilled when they asked me to take some photos of their family for the holidays. We met up at the Durham museum, and to our surprise, there was all sorts of Christmas activities going on, so the place was packed! Luckily, we found our own little places throughout to capture some fun-filled family moments. Here’s a peek at this adorable family. πŸ™‚

{giving thanks}

I had a chance to photograph this sweet family on Thanksgiving weekend, on yet another chilly and windy day. They were troopers though and managed to get the little ones to stick it out long enough to capture some beautiful photos. It’s always fun to come up with incentives for kids to behave, and so it was brought up that each would receive a (just one I guess) πŸ˜‰ Skittle if they smiled and looked at the camera. I also got a laugh at a barbie doll that was dangling over my head to get their attention. Anything that works right!? Thank you, Katie, for asking me to take pictures of your beautiful family!

{trevden cole}

First off, what a fun and unique name! Little Trevden Cole was born just a few weeks ago, and I was proud to once again be a part of capturing those precious and new moments of a parent’s first child. It’s always interesting to see how animals react to the newest member of the family, and what I witnessed from their two cats was a lot of curiosity and what seemed like protection. They wanted to be in the photos just as much, so I gave them the spotlight for just a few shots. What more can I say than, here’s a peek at another adorable baby who was very much a pro at his first photo shoot! πŸ˜‰

{vanessa}

Seriously, blond hair, blue eyes, how much more cute can a kid get!? I had such a fun time with this family on what may have been one of the last weekends we see leaves on our trees here! With the crazy wind we’ve been having, I’m glad I was able to get some shots with at least some color in the background. : ) Little Vanessa was so much fun to watch as she explored the world around her. Enjoy a few from the day!

{baby jackson + five}

I was so happy when Amanda, whose newborn son I last photographed, contacted me once again for some family photos! It was a gorgeous fall morning, so it was too easy to capture some great moments with this family. It was fun to once again photograph little baby Jack, all while watching how much his parents, grandparents and uncle adored him. I know how it is, when a baby is around, all attention usually ends up on them! πŸ˜‰

{Jackson Robert}

This little cutie, named Jackson Robert, was born just over a week ago on September 2. I can tell that Amanda and Owen are going to have so much fun experiencing all the ” firsts” with their new baby boy. After doing a few newborn sessions now , I’m really starting to wonder how some of those baby photographers keep their little ones asleep while photographing them! Lately, or I should say with most of my baby shoots, including my sisters, the babies have been wide awake taking in everything around them (including the big black lens in their face!). πŸ˜‰ Not that that’s not adorable or anything, as I would prefer to have at least some with their eyes open, but I’m also anxious to try some of the creative, more posed shots. Patience is definitely key, and I’ll just have to get a few pointers on what it takes to keeps those little ones sound asleep. πŸ™‚ Enjoy a few precious moments from this adorable family.
