Last weekend, I made my way out to Mt Michaels for a family shoot with the Clausens! I’m always up for new locations, so I’m glad they recommended this beautiful spot! Their boys are absolutely adorable, and although food was on their mind the majority of the time (it’s so hard shooting around dinner time!), we still got some great smiles out of them. They are such a sweet family who were up for anything, including throwing leaves! It’s not a fall family session until you do just that. 😉
tessa & mike {engagement + family}
Gorgeous light + beautiful people = one lovely shoot. Last weekend, I met up with Tessa & Mike for their engagement session. Tessa’s daughter, Brooklynn, of course had to be a part of it all, so we made it kind of an engagement/family shoot. Brooklynn is such a cutie and loved being in front of the camera. I can also tell that she’s super excited for Tessa & Mike to get married. So glad I was able to capture the love between them on a beautiful October day. Omaha provided us, once again, with another beautiful sunset to end the evening. Congrats to Tessa & Mike!!

Three years ago, I met Kristin at MOMs group. Back then, our little ones were just tiny babies, only a month apart. It’s always fun to see how much one changes in just a matter of a few years — Owen is such a handsome 3 year old now with the best blonde hair, blue eyes and super sweet smile. He was such a good listener and seemed to enjoy their little family shoot. I can tell there is so much love in the family, and it’s always fun to capture just that. So glad Kristin contacted me, as it was great catching up!

Last weekend, I had a fun time photographing this sweet family of 3 on a gorgeous Fall day. Big thanks to my sister-in-law who referred her neighbor to me, whom I found out is also a photographer! Their little 16 month old had so much energy and was very curious of everything around her. I love her still semi-toothless big smile, little pierced ears and huge bow on the top of her head. She is one stylish girl already with the nicest parents. Here’s a peek at their little family shoot!
kate {newborn}
Seems like just yesterday that I shot Jenny and Paul’s engagement photos and wedding, and now recently, I had the pleasure of photographing their first little bundle, Katherine Rose. I could have just snuggled her all day, she was so precious. And look at all of that hair! She is such a sweet mix between her mom and dad. So happy for Jenny & Paul as they start off their journey of parenthood — I can already tell that they are naturals. 🙂
rowley {family}
I had so much fun capturing our friends, the Rowleys — now a family of 3 — with mom and dad being naturals at their new role of parents. I love the many different looks of baby Elisa — all dolled up, looking like a princess in her fluffy purple romper, looking ready for Christmas in red, and finally, daddy’s little girl in her Husker gear! 6 months old, and this girl is surrounded by so much love! Not only do her parents adore her, but her two puppy siblings are very protective over her. She is such a sweet little girl, and my daughter already talks about the day when she is old enough to play with her. It won’t be long until she is crawling, walking, and exploring the world even more around her!

Last weekend I met up with this sweet family for some fun Fall family photos, as well as their son’s 1 year photos! Henrik was the happiest little boy with the best smile! He seemed to love the camera and fit in so well with his photogenic parents. Aside from chewing on everything around him (his shoe, leaves, etc) he was also a rockstar when it came to his cakesmash — who wouldn’t want to dig into a pumpkin decorated cake!? Yum. Here’s a peek at their little session!
Labor Day weekend {family} fun // Omaha, NE
When families don’t get to see each other very often, it is those times together that, I believe, are some of life’s most precious moments. Celeste was so excited to have her whole family gathered together over Labor Day weekend. She and her husband, and all 5 of their combined sons along with their families, were such a beautiful group to photograph. Not only were they warm and welcoming, but I also found them to be a bit of a goofy bunch — the boys in particular. I had to keep reminding them to get a few “normal” shots too. 😉 Besides it being incredibly warm and sticky out, we were fortunate to have a beautiful ray of light shine through that complimented their outfits perfectly. Here’s a peek at an end of Summer family shoot!
kamin {family}
Last time I saw the Kamins was 6 months ago, and wow has their little Ryker changed! Maybe it’s something with his hair being longer (and blonde!), the fact that he now has teeth or that he is an awesome walker, but he just looked more mature. 🙂 Such a cutie! Always a fun family to capture. It was a beautiful day for some exploring, baseball and playing in the park. Here’s a peek!
harris {family} omaha, ne
Last summer, as my daughter and I were leaving our park, we said hello to a mother and her adorable little boy. Making small chat, we clicked instantly, and I found out that they had just moved into the neighborhood — a brown house is all I really remember. As soon as I got home, I realized that they were the brown house just one block directly in front of us! Since then, our kiddos have had many playdates, we’ve talked about building a pool in the vacant lot in between our homes 😉 and we’ve gotten to know each other even better. I’m so glad that they moved into the ‘hood! Little Marcus is turning two soon, and what a cute, curious little man he is. He seemed to enjoy our little shoot, but was even more interested in all the airplanes flying by! Chloe and Chris have their 5 year anniversary approaching soon as well. So much to be celebrating! Here’s a peek at our colorful summer shoot with a dramatic sky ending! 😉
andrew {2 years}
It didn’t seem that long ago that I first did a session with Andrew, and now he’s two! He was sportin’ a cute little hat, but underneath was his adorable blond hair. Watch out for this one some day, ladies — he is a cutie! 😉 Like most toddlers, he’s becoming more and more independent every day, and sitting still is definitely the last thing on his mind. We just let him explore his surroundings and quickly discovered that water is his favorite — and then he didn’t want to leave it!
*Thanks again to my generous neighbors and their amazing yard we shot in! Be sure to check out their local business sometime. 🙂 bluepom.com
hann {family}
Last weekend, I met up with the Hann’s for some family photos! It is always so fun to watch the kiddos I photograph grow over the years. I first captured this sweet family when Vienna was a newborn. Now, she’s an energetic beautiful little girl who loves to keep up with her big brother. Both are cuties and are spitting images of their parents. For the most part, the kids just got to be kids throughout the shoot. From running around a big field, to playing on the playground, being tossed in the air, and even stomping in the puddles at the end, they seemed to enjoy the fun, and, knew they would get icecream at the end if they beheaved well! A little bribery never hurts. 😉 Here’s a peek at this beautiful family shoot just before a storm arrived.
ryker {9 months}
Still wide-eyed and loving life, Ryker is now 9 months! I had the pleasure of taking his photos at his family’s new home, which has lots of space for him to show off his new crawling abilities. So many adventures are to be had now that he is on the move — although, grass is currently not his favorite thing to be in, he’d rather be in his parent’s arms. 🙂 He is such a smiley little man who once again, seemed to love getting his photos taken — this time hanging out with his mama on her birthday! Here’s a peek at sweet little Ryker.
libby {6 months}
Sweet little Libby is growing up so quickly! Last time I saw her she was just a newborn, now she has a vibrant personality with the BEST facial expressions ever! Seriously, this kiddo was happy throughout the entire session, and when she wasn’t smiling, she had the cutest surprised/confused look. I noticed that she is in the “chomping on her toes” phase, so I made sure to capture a few of those fun moments as that only lasts a few weeks! Such a beautiful little girl with the sweetest parents. Here’s a peek at Libby’s 6 month shoot!

Even though still a bit chilly, I think we may have caught one of the last few nice days to take photos outside this last week. As I sit here typing this, I am looking outside at our first bit of snow! And wow, is it COLD. These photos are anything but cold looking (even though 3/4 of us actually had colds! ;). The gorgeous sunlight, colored leaves and super cute family came together beautifully. My little friend, Andrew, has definitely grown since I’d last seen him and now has a mind of his own. He would have much rather been playing and exploring than getting his photo taken, so it’s a good thing we found a playground for him at the end. 🙂 Here’s a peek at the fun we had a Zorinksy park!
a boy and his grandma + a mom and her bump = sweetness
Recently, I had the most amazing facial done by a friend of mine who owns her own business — Unique Skincare Boutique (check her out sometime!) She mentioned that her mom (who could just as well be her sister 😉 ) was coming to visit (from ALASKA!) and loves to get photos taken with her grandson, Oliver. I was so happy that they asked me to take some photos! Bri not only has an adorable son with some awesome hair, but she is also expecting baby #2, so it was fun to get some bump photos too. Oliver was a great little model, and I can tell he has fun hanging out with mom and grandma. Here’s a peek at a sweet family from 3 generations!
lizzie {one year}
Lizzie is almost one year, so I was happy to take photos of this adorable girl and her sweet parents! Lizzie has the most gorgeous big blue eyes, and she loves to explore the world around her. I think her favorite part was the cake smash — she did not hesitate to dig right in…..and keep digging, until she tasted what she wanted of the cute and delicious looking cake made by her mama. 😉 Here’s a peek at some cuteness! Happy almost 1st birthday, Lizzie!
schmidt {family}
Initially, this family wanted to take Spring photos, but after needing to reschedule multiple times — due to medical reasons — we finally got around to taking them in the Fall! So glad it worked out that way because wow did we have a perfect fall day, and I have to say that their beautiful red hair looks so awesome against the changing leaf colors. These kiddos sure know how to make me work, too! I really wish I had their energy. 😉 Such a sweet and fun family to work with. Here’s a peek from their day!
Happy birthday to Eliza, too, who just turned 8 today!
morgan {family}
This Fall weather could seriously not be any more perfect. Besides a little wind — which kicked the allergies into full gear 🙁 — it was a beautiful day to hang out with the Morgan family. Like last time, Josh loved being in front of the camera and Elizabeth loved to explore. It’s the little things — like singing their favorite song or playing peek-a-boo that helps with certain poses. But, it’s the natural moments that I love to capture most — who doesn’t love piggy-back riding and picking leaves off the trees from your parents shoulders, or “chasing” a hawk flying in the sky? 😉 Here’s a peek at our little adventure at Lake Zorinsky!
schlickbernd {family}
I always look forward to shoots with the Schlickbernd’s! It is the best when clients become friends as it doesn’t seem like work at all to me. 🙂 Their two beautiful girls are growing up so fast and are just full of energy. Although it’s sometimes hard to keep toddlers in place for certain shots, the moments captured, either posed or candid, are just lovely. And of course, just letting kids be kids is the best way to go — letting them run, chase bubbles, take a snack break when needed — is a sure way to keep those smiles coming. 😉 We had some gorgeous fall colors and light to work with — I am loving the yellow trees! Here’s a peek at this cute family having some fun in the park!
beran {family}
Last week, I ventured out to Nichole and Brock’s house on the Elkhorn River. When I approached their property, I was excited to see the beautiful, rustic, country surroundings — my favorite type of scene to work in. 😉 That, and working with a sweet family made it an all-around fun session. They are such natural parents who absolutely adore their almost one year old, Bryer. I could not have asked for more smiles from that little man — such a cutie and so happy! He loved being in front of the camera. The only time I saw him making a funny face was when his parents were kissing! Not sure if it was a coincidence, but he looks so confused — it was adorable. Here’s a peek at their fun family session!
**As a side note: they are the owners of Tubing and Adventures — check them out sometime, and plan your next summer extravaganza! 😉
fall {family} fun
I love fall shoots! The gorgeous gold background of trees lit by the sun could not have been a more perfect compliment to this family’s clothing color scheme of blues. Such a lovely and fun group I worked with this last weekend! Despite it being pretty chilly out, they still looked so warm and inviting, and so natural in front of the camera — every one of them. All with bright blue eyes and big beautiful smiles, they made my job very easy. 😉 Thank you, Carmen, for inviting me to photograph your gorgeous family!
caroline {6 months}
Ohhh sweet Caroline…oh oh oh. Seriously, what a cutie, and look at those big brown eyes that you could just melt into. 6 months old is such a fun age. Not only are they curious about everything around them, but, you can still doll them up in whatever you’d like (such as adorable headbands) and they can’t quite rip them off yet if they disapprove. 😉 Hanging out with pumpkins, her older brother, and, snuggling up with her family in the cold is what this shoot consisted of. A crisp fall day, but so much warmth coming from this family. Love them! I am already anticipating Caroline’s 9 month photos!
finney {family}
For the longest time, a vacant lot sat across the street from us. When a house finally was built, we were so anxious as to who our new neighbors would be. So glad that it was the Finney’s! Such a sweet, fun and beautiful family. Before we really talked to them, I remember seeing two little boys, always exploring, and a cute little girl running around in her tutu outside. I thought that once we had kids, it would be fun for them to hang out. Now our girls love hanging out, and, my daughter’s wardrobe is primarily made up of adddorrable outfits from their sweet little girl. SO thankful for their generosity, good talks (with wine, right Amy!?) and willingness to always help out. Hope that they stay in the ‘hood for a long time. 🙂
