katelin + justin | married | fall 2023

What a beautiful day and wedding this was! I was first contacted by Katelin about capturing their big day when she and Justin lived over seas in Italy! I have to give props to her for making her plans in a city she had never lived in, and from such a distance! And, I’ll admit that I was a bit nervous when she mentioned a 5:00 ceremony outdoors on November 5, as I knew daylight savings was the night before and it would be dark in no time! We lucked out, though, and there was a perfect amount of light leftover at the end of the day. 😉 The day unfolded just beautifully and I love how Katelin made tribute to her mother whom passed away not too long ago. A photo of her mom followed her throughout the day, and I have no doubt that she was watching from above. Katelin and Justin are such a sweet couple, and I loved all the little moments together (such as how often he would kiss her hand or make an adorable comment). I wish them nothing but the best in this next chapter of their lives together!

kahla & cory // married // 2021

As I sit here editing on this cold, windy and rainy day, I am so thankful for the beautiful day that Kahla and Cory had for their wedding! Their reception was under a tent by the river, so it worked out so well to have a gorgeous Fall day. I absolutely love the story of how these two met — a complete God thing. They were introduced by the groom’s sister just this year, engaged in July, and they bridged their long-distance relationship quite quickly after that! You can absolutely feel the love of these two (or rather 3 as Kahla also said yes to Cory’s sweet little boy, too!) It really seems like they have all known each other for years! Kahla is a natural mama and was absolutely glowing on her big day! I am still amazed by her organizational skills and how they pulled everything together so beautifully in just a few short months. Praying many blessings to this sweet family in the years to come!

Debbie & Dick {50th anniversary} celebration!

What a joy it was to capture the love between two people who celebrated 50 years of being married! Surrounded by friends and family, and traveling all the way from CA, they truly had something wonderful to celebrate. I loved hearing about the time that they met, and the theme of the party revolved around a photo of them in their early days of dating. The Bellevue Berry Farm is such a fun place and fit their theme perfectly. Here’s a peek at this beautiful couple and their fun day!

jess & bj // married // 2020

Recently, I enjoyed being a part of Jess and BJ’s beautiful & intimate backyard wedding! It was such a sweet setting and was so meaningful as it was the house that BJ grew up in. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the two of them became one under a canopy of trees, and afterwards enjoyed a nice meal provided by Dante’s pizza (whom cooked it directly on their driveway!) Little did we know that the day had record temps + humidity of 100+! So thankfully they had the cute little fans available. Another detail that is worth noting is the tree stump that has their names carved into it. BJ had carved into a tree that he proposed to Jess at, and more recently the tree was hit by lighting. They were able to save the piece of the tree that had so much meaning to them, and I think it’s the sweetest thing!

Here is a peek at how their day unfolded! Congratulations to the newlyweds. 🙂

dey + jim // married // 2020

Jim & Dey were originally supposed to have a destination wedding, but with Covid restrictions, their plans soon changed. They planned an alternative location here in Omaha and had to replan mid-way with even more guidelines to follow. I don’t know what it was like behind the scenes with stress levels and decision-making, but bless their hearts and cheers to them as you would never know that there were any bumps along the way as the day went so smoothly and was just beautiful. I am amazed that they made so many changes in just a few months! Weddings are meant to be spent with friends and family, and despite the craziness going on in the world, I’m so glad that they had a chance to celebrate with all of their loved ones, and I could feel God’s presence throughout the whole day as these two became one.

Jim & Dey are such a sweet couple and I was so happy to be a part of their big day! I will not be opposed though, if they ever renew their vows on a tropical island…..say 10 years from now, if they want to bring me along to capture that as well. 😉 Here’s a peek at how their day unfolded!

jessica + bj // engaged // 2019

I love celebrating love and capturing the adorableness between couples. Jessica and BJ are getting ready to tie the knot next summer, and I’m so excited for their wedding! Their story of meeting is so cute, that of which involved a basketball game, so we made sure to include some of that in their session. I’m so happy for them as they begin this new chapter in their lives, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful fall day to capture their little love story. Here’s a peek!

brenda + tavis // married // omaha, ne

I think my new favorite thing is backyard weddings! What better way to celebrate love than to be in an intimate setting surrounded by friends and family? This one was decorated so beautifully, we could not have asked for better weather, and the energy of the evening was just pure fun! Tavis and Brenda looked so happy, and I wish them all the best as they venture into this next chapter of life together!

jody + kenny // married

I absolutely loved capturing Jody and Kenny’s family photos last year, and was so excited when they asked me to capture their big day! They were married down in Jamaica a few weeks ago and had an intimate celebration with friends and family here in Omaha at the Old Mattress Factory. Such a gorgeous couple, and it’s beautiful to see them come together as a family of 6 now! So many memories ahead for this sweet family, and I’m glad I was able to capture some more for them. Here’s a sneak peek at their big day!

kelsey + matt {married}

Kelsey and Matt are two beautiful people, both inside and out. And together, they are so sweet. A wonderful balance, I’ve sensed, in the short time I’ve known them. Their whole wedding day was just lovely, despite the hot, humid weather. The colors of the day and locations of the ceremony and reception were just beautiful, and the decorating of the hall was so elegant. I’ve had a few weddings now where it was a little more emotional because of of the passing of a parent. In this instant, Kelsey’s father is no longer with them, but I know he was watching over. I love the little details like the charms placed on her shoes and flowers with a picture of him. In a sense, he “walked” her down the aisle — though, her mother gladly took on this role, and her two grandpas took over the dancing. So happy for this wonderful couple as they start this next chapter in life together!

katy & nick {married}

The week leading up to Katy and Nick’s wedding, I chatted with Katy about the possibility of, “what if it rains?” The forecast looked pretty gloomy, and even though the day was pretty soggy and wet outside, it did not change how excited Katy and Nick were about joining their families! Not only were the two of them coming together, but, they each have a daughter so they became a family of four! Just like their engagement photos, in how I noticed the sweet looks Nick gave Katy, he gave her the same adoring look, even more so when he first spotted his bride — she was absolutely radiant. They are so sweet together and you can just tell when two people are meant to be together. Here’s a peek at how their beautiful day unfolded!

katy + nick {engaged}

What a sweet couple I got to spend time with recently. Katy and Nick are engaged and ready to start this next chapter in their lives together! Since Nick proposed to her on the stairs at Memorial Park, we made sure to capture a few moments there, as well as the Benson area — which I love because it has lots of cool alleys and old buildings to explore. Nick and Katy are the perfect mix of serious and goofy together, and I absolutely love how Nick looks at Katy ~ so in love that they are! I’m excited to be capturing their wedding next year!

tiffany & justin {married}

When Tiffany came to me and asked if I’d shoot her wedding, I knew it would be one that I’d love to be a part of after giving myself some time off from having our twins. Having shot her sister’s wedding a few years back on Halloween, I knew it would a unique and fun day. When your passions become a part of your wedding, it’s definitely something to remember! Both Tiffany and Justin are instructors at a local race track and drive some pretty crazy cars and motorcycles. Their day was a perfect combination of sweet and sassy. I have to admit, it was a bit comical to see me (in my little Nissan Altima) trying to keep up with these race cars. I mean, I think I did pretty good, but, it’s probably not something I’ll ever be doing again. 😉 Both Tiffany & Justin looked absolutely amazing and together are just the sweetest couple. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family when saying “I do” and when dancing the night away. Here’s a peek at how their beautiful day unfolded!

tiffany & justin {engaged}

Such a sweet engagement session this last weekend! Tiffany and Justin are such a beautiful couple, and their love for one another is undeniable. I barely had to tell them how to pose as they just naturally fell into place. I absolutely love their outfit choices — elegance + nature = perfection. And, who wouldn’t want a shot or two with their cute little pups? 😉 Their wedding is just a few weeks away and I can already tell it’s going to be a unique and amazing day!

tessa & mike {engagement + family}

Gorgeous light + beautiful people = one lovely shoot. Last weekend, I met up with Tessa & Mike for their engagement session. Tessa’s daughter, Brooklynn, of course had to be a part of it all, so we made it kind of an engagement/family shoot. Brooklynn is such a cutie and loved being in front of the camera. I can also tell that she’s super excited for Tessa & Mike to get married. So glad I was able to capture the love between them on a beautiful October day. Omaha provided us, once again, with another beautiful sunset to end the evening. Congrats to Tessa & Mike!!

gianna & justin {married} // Nebraska City

Nebraska City has been a favorite place of mine to visit in the Fall, so I was excited for Gianna and Justin to have their wedding at the Lied Lodge. It was such a beautiful day — we could not have asked for better weather — and all of the wedding details came together perfectly. Gianna and Justin both looked amazing, and I love how natural they are with one another. A very important guest was not able to be there — Gianna’s dad — but he was most likely watching from above and I’m sure very proud of his little girl. Some touching moments I thought were when Gianna’s brother walked her down the aisle, and her mom gave a speech as well as enjoyed a special first dance with her daughter. There is a lot of love in both families, and I can already tell that Gianna and Justin are going to have an amazing, blessed life together. Congrats to the beautiful bride & groom!

stephanie & andrew {married} omaha, ne

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie and Andrew’s beautiful wedding. They stood before their friends and family and said their vows at Mary our Queen, withstood the intense heat (96+ degrees!) to take some fun shots outside, and ended the evening dancing the night away  to an incredibly talented band (on the fritz) at one of my favorite venues — Livestock Exchange building. Stephanie and Andrew are an adorable couple and both looked amazing. Although they looked happy throughout the day, they compltely lit up as they entered their reception. I could tell that they were in their element as they were on the dance floor much of the night, and even got up on stage to do some singing of their own. 🙂 It was a great day to celebrate, love, laughter, and their happily ever after! So thankful for Amy for intoducing me to her sister. Here’s a peek at how their big day unfolded..

gianna & justin {engaged} omaha, ne

I had a blast hanging out with this sweet couple (and their cuute puppies!) last weekend. Gianna and Justin are engaged and getting married this September! After meeting Gianna over the winter, I instantly connected with her, so I’m so happy that they are having me be a part of their big day! She and Justin are adorable together and were up for more of a country/greenery session. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening, and after getting permission, we ended up at the location in which Junkstock takes place! Since it is basically right in my backyard, and since I’ve attended the events, I’ve always had the urge to shoot there. So glad I did with these two as we explored the kind of eerie (but awesome!) property. **I will not mention how high Gianna jumped as a rabbit flew out of the bushes…. 😉 These two are a beautiful couple, inside and out, and their love for one another is undeniable. Here’s a peek at their session!

lindsey & tyler {married} tekamah, ne

Last weekend, I made my way up to Tekamah, NE, watching the dark skies follow me the whole way there. Although there was rain most of the morning, the afternoon ended up being a beautiful (hot!) day. Lindsey was born and raised in Tekamah, so, it was fitting for them to be back there for their big day. I loved the rolling country hills as I drove in, the sound of horses just outside the church, the small town in which everyone is friendly, and most of all, a bride and groom whom had a blast on their big day and seemed so happy. Oh, and let’s not forget about the wedding party’s ride after the ceremony — they definitely know how to roll in Tekamah — picnic tables on top of a trailer!? Props to whomever thought of that. 😉 Lindsey and Tyler are an adorable couple and I wish them all the best as they start their new adventure together in KC! Here’s a peek at how their day unfolded..

kendall & nate {married} omaha, ne

Last weekend, Kendall and Nate were married in front of their friends and family, and what a beautiful day it was! Just like their engagement session, a little rain didn’t get in the way of their happiness. They are the sweetest couple, so of course their friends and family were equally as nice. There were many emotions throughout the day, but mainly what I saw from the two of them were smiles from ear to ear and they seemed to be just beaming with joy. From the quiet moment of prayer prior to the ceremony —  to their first kiss (which truly was :)), and from the reception in which they were giddy with excitement — to the send off by everyone there at the end of the night, I could tell that they are so happy to start this next chapter of their lives together. Kendall looked absolutely stunning, and I’m pretty sure Nate thought the same as he could not take his eyes off his bride. 😉 Together, they are a beautiful couple, and I’m so glad that I was able to be a part of their amazing day. Congrats, Kendall and Nate ~ many blessings to you!

kendall & nate {engaged} omaha, ne

When a beautiful couple and gorgeous surroundings come together perfectly, it’s so hard to pick the best shots when they’re all so lovely! Kendall and Nate were thankfully okay with still meeting up even after it rained all night, and I’m so glad! Though there were puddles (which I love for some shots!) and wet grass, the fresh green and colorful flowers made for a beautiful Spring engagement shoot. Kendall and Nate are just the sweetest couple, and the love they have for one another is so obvious. We chose Elmwood Park as it has a lot of meaning for them both. Not only did Nate first ask Kendall out there, but, he also planned a beautiful proposal under a double/split tree full of lights — where Kendall of course said “yes!” Such a fun shoot and I’m excited to be a part of their wedding in a month!

gwendy & wayne {married}

Halloween was very different for me this year as I got to photograph Gwendy and Wayne’s wedding! I usually think of Halloween as being more on the spooky side, but, everything about Gwendy and Wayne’s day was so sweet and their decorations were absolutely adorable and well thought out. It was more fall-themed overall and I loved the shades of purple used throughout. The spiderwebs placed all over the venue were AMAZING looking — especially when the colored lights illuminated them. The day was more on the traditional side of things, and I often forgot it was even Halloween — until I saw Zombie looking people driving down the street, and then I remembered. 🙂 The whole wedding party looked amazing, and I love how they secretly had on the coolest socks ever. Not only were they funky and fitting of the day, they kept them semi-warm as it was pretty chilly out. After the ceremony, Gwendy and Wayne transformed into Romeo and Juliet (DiCaprio style) costumes and danced the night away. Their guests were invited to also take part in the costume fun, and wow did they ever! Loved all the creativity. This was one fun group, and I was happy to be a part of Gwendy and Wayne’s SPOOKTACULAR wedding day!

lindsey & tyler {engaged}

I love doing engagement sessions. There’s something so sweet about watching how a couple reacts when you ask how they first met, or just seeing the little things that go on between the two when you’re looking through the lens. Lindsey and Tyler were so much fun to hang out with! They are one of those couples whom, upon first meeting them, feels like you’ve known forever. So nice, adorable together, and up for trying some fun poses. Since Tyler is a baseball coach down in KC for the summers, and baseball plays an important role in their relationship, we decided to incorporate it into the shoot. Taking place near a small town field, it was a perfect place for them to just be themselves and have fun. 🙂 Here’s a peek at their gorgeous fall engagement session!

jennifer & mike {married}

Jennifer and Mike’s wedding day was full of laughter, fun and… rain!? The day started off overcast and the morning turned to wet, soggy, rain. Luckily, after the girls got their hair done, they were provided with caps to keep everything in place. It did dry up most of the day after that, and then the storms decided to roll in later that evening. It was an outdoor ceremony — at 6pm — so we all watched as the dark clouds approached with a little thunder and lightening. They had their first kiss just in time before it did start to rain again. Jennifer and Mike are so cute together and the details of the day were absolutely adorable. Everything revolved around music, since that plays such an important roll in their lives. From the symbol that was designed just for them and incorporated in the details throughout the day, including the cake — to the cufflinks and veil that had a cute little music note(s) on it; from the bride and groom tablecloth — to the awesome, energetic band that played the entire evening, everything was just perfect. Mike is a huge Vikings fan too, so purple was the main color. A lot of thought was put into the day, and if it is anything like their marriage, I can tell that they are going to be very happy together. 🙂 Congrats to Jennifer and Mike!

jeanna & conor {married}

Beautiful couple + beautiful location + a beautiful day = one amazing wedding. Ever since Jeanna and Conor’s engagement photos, I had been looking forward to their big day! Taking place at the Hilton in downtown Omaha, and St John’s cathedral, it was a slightly more opposite day than I’m used to, as the ceremony took place at 6:30 pm — so we did most everything beforehand picture-wise, such as riding around in a limo and driving to different locations. Jeanna and Conor are such a stunning couple — it was fun to see them all dressed up in their wedding attire. Jeanna’s dress was gorgeous and she wore it so well. Their friends and family were enjoyable to be around, and, I thank the whole wedding party once again, for being so patient in the heat. I felt somewhat guilty for having them “hike” up the pedestrian bridge, as I didn’t want to mess anyone up before the actual ceremony! Everyone still looked just lovely after all was said and done, and we made our way to St John’s. 🙂 Here’s a peek at how their beautiful day unfolded!
