Mj’s first shoot was way back when he was a newborn, and now here we are, already over a year old! Such a handsome little man, with both his parent’s dark, brown eyes and hair. And although he didn’t want to give us a ton of smiles, his serious look is absolutely adorable. He is still that squishable little boy from his very first photoshoot, but this time much more aware of the camera and showing his sweet, shy side. Last weekend, I spent some time with the Kamin family for Ryker’s two year photos! He just gets cuter and cuter every time I see him ~ and I’ve been photographing him since birth! Those dark brown eyes draw you in and his smile just melts your heart. He is definitely all boy and into sports, cars and trucks, but he also shows his sweet side with lots of hugs and kisses for mom and dad. Here’s a peek at Ryker’s 2 year photos!

Over-sized ties, cute hats, elf PJs and bare butts, oh my! Paxton’s 9 month photos are all too cute. He is seriously one happy baby and SO stinkin’ adorable! It feels like just yesterday that I took his newborn photos. Now, at 9 months old, he is all smiles. His blue eyes, blonde hair and charming ways are going to get him in trouble with the ladies some day. 😉 He brought his sweet sister and adorable cousin for just a few shots too — great moments that hopefully they can look back on for years to come. Sweet Caroline is 18 months and just keeps getting cuter and cuter! That curly hair that both she and her brother have is just the best. And Jack, sportin’ his new pair of glasses — just too cute. I’m pretty sure that both of them had trick-or-treating on their minds, as we did the shoot on Halloween morning, so thought it would be best to take them outside for a bit to disctract ’em. 😉 What could be more fun than throwing leaves!? Last weekend I met up with this sweet family for some fun Fall family photos, as well as their son’s 1 year photos! Henrik was the happiest little boy with the best smile! He seemed to love the camera and fit in so well with his photogenic parents. Aside from chewing on everything around him (his shoe, leaves, etc) he was also a rockstar when it came to his cakesmash — who wouldn’t want to dig into a pumpkin decorated cake!? Yum. Boston is now ONE, and what better way to celebrate than learning how to walk close to his birthday! We had fun doing a little exploring during his shoot — looking at grasshoppers and butterflies — oh, and eating leaves! It’s just the way toddlers explore, right? 😉 Along with walking and becoming more independant, clapping is another favorite of his right now. Those baby blue eyes and messy blonde hair are too cute — watch out, mom and dad, the ladies will love him someday. 😉

Last time I saw the Kamins was 6 months ago, and wow has their little Ryker changed! Maybe it’s something with his hair being longer (and blonde!), the fact that he now has teeth or that he is an awesome walker, but he just looked more mature. 🙂 Such a cutie! Always a fun family to capture. It was a beautiful day for some exploring, baseball and playing in the park. Here’s a peek!

Last summer, as my daughter and I were leaving our park, we said hello to a mother and her adorable little boy. Making small chat, we clicked instantly, and I found out that they had just moved into the neighborhood — a brown house is all I really remember. As soon as I got home, I realized that they were the brown house just one block directly in front of us! Since then, our kiddos have had many playdates, we’ve talked about building a pool in the vacant lot in between our homes 😉 and we’ve gotten to know each other even better. I’m so glad that they moved into the ‘hood! Little Marcus is turning two soon, and what a cute, curious little man he is. He seemed to enjoy our little shoot, but was even more interested in all the airplanes flying by! Chloe and Chris have their 5 year anniversary approaching soon as well. So much to be celebrating! andrew {2 years}
It didn’t seem that long ago that I first did a session with Andrew, and now he’s two! He was sportin’ a cute little hat, but underneath was his adorable blond hair. Watch out for this one some day, ladies — he is a cutie! 😉 Like most toddlers, he’s becoming more and more independent every day, and sitting still is definitely the last thing on his mind. We just let him explore his surroundings and quickly discovered that water is his favorite — and then he didn’t want to leave it!

Last year, at one of our neighborhood gatherings, I met a couple and found out that my husband grew up in the same neighborhood as the husband of that couple — and they live just one block away from us. Small world! I was happy when they asked me to photograph their little boy, John, whom they welcomed into the world over 2 years ago! He is a handsome little man, who I think, looks older than he is with all that amazing hair! I must say that he has definitely got the serious model look down, too. He did become all smiles though when flying in the air with dad. 😉 Despite the crazy wind we had that day, we were able to get outside for a bit to take in all the fresh Spring surroundings. Last time I saw Libby she was 6 months — now she’s a big girl who just turned one! Even though she was a little tired this time around, she is still the smilest little girl! And again, if not smiling, those expressions of hers are just so stinkin’ cute! She is now walking, already taking up golf (daddy is proud) and keeping her parents busy. Happy first birthday sweet little Libby ~ you bring so much joy to this world already. 🙂

Caroline turned one this last weekend!! I have had so much fun capturing this little beauty throughout her first year. She is such a sweetie, just like her big brother whom I got to capture throughout this first year…..and beyond….too. 🙂 The Treibers are such awesome clients (and friends!) and I’m so glad that they have me capture so many special times of their family’s lives! Caroline has so much spunk and was very excited about being able to eat and play in the frosting from her adorable little cake. Here’s a peek at her 1 year session!

It still amazes me how much kiddos grow in just a few months. Sweet Caroline has changed so much since I last saw her — not only is she taller, has more hair and teeth! — she is trying to say words in her sweet little voice, crawling like crazy (while trying to pull an escape route on the stairs) 😉 and has such a cute little personality. It was hard work being a model, as she looked well ready for a nap towards the end. Can’t wait to take her one year photos in a few months!!

Jill and Chase’s wedding was one of the very first that I captured alone back in 2009! Just before Christmas this last year, Jill’s sister asked to purchase a gift card for Jill as they had a new member of their family — Noah! Such a sweet gesture, and, I guess when Jill found out, she mentioned that, ” I cried I think as hard as I did at my wedding when I found out it would be done by you!!” I love hearing stuff like that. 😉
Their son, Noah, could not be any more precious. Due on July 7th, he decided to make his entrance into the world in late April instead! Although it was a difficult time for the whole family, it was all worth it when they finally got to bring him home. You would never know that this strong little man came early. And, can we just talk about that adorable hair that goes straight into a natural mohawk when you brush it!? Pair that with his gorgeous blue eyes — this one is going to be a heart breaker when he’s older. 😉 Such a happy and curious little man — I had fun taking his photos!

Ryker just celebrated his FIRST birthday – sock monkey style. 🙂 I have had the pleasure of capturing this cute little guy throughout his whole first year, and each time he gives me the cutest facial expressions! Still with a toothless grin and those big brown eyes, he seems pretty used to the camera. I loved seeing the pure joy that came from the simple act of riding a rocking horse, and oh my, how cute is he with that ADORABLE hat on!? We ended the session with a cake smash — and it took him awhile to understand exactly what was placed before him. Once he dug in, he kept wanting his hand to be cleaned off — until he realized he could eat it. Here’s a peek at Ryker’s first year shoot!

Still wide-eyed and loving life, Ryker is now 9 months! I had the pleasure of taking his photos at his family’s new home, which has lots of space for him to show off his new crawling abilities. So many adventures are to be had now that he is on the move — although, grass is currently not his favorite thing to be in, he’d rather be in his parent’s arms. 🙂 He is such a smiley little man who once again, seemed to love getting his photos taken — this time hanging out with his mama on her birthday! Lizzie is almost one year, so I was happy to take photos of this adorable girl and her sweet parents! Lizzie has the most gorgeous big blue eyes, and she loves to explore the world around her. I think her favorite part was the cake smash — she did not hesitate to dig right in…..and keep digging, until she tasted what she wanted of the cute and delicious looking cake made by her mama. 😉 Here’s a peek at some cuteness! Ohhh sweet Caroline…oh oh oh. Seriously, what a cutie, and look at those big brown eyes that you could just melt into. 6 months old is such a fun age. Not only are they curious about everything around them, but, you can still doll them up in whatever you’d like (such as adorable headbands) and they can’t quite rip them off yet if they disapprove. 😉 Hanging out with pumpkins, her older brother, and, snuggling up with her family in the cold is what this shoot consisted of. A crisp fall day, but so much warmth coming from this family. Love them! I am already anticipating Caroline’s 9 month photos!
everett {1 year}
I love seeing the world through a one year old. Everything is still so new to them, and the facial expressions — oh those expressions are priceless! Little Everett had plenty of fun faces — most of the time he smiled from ear to ear, otherwise was in awe or looked surprised. He also loved playing peek-a-boo, blew kisses and tried to eat rocks. 😉 His blue eyes are just adorable and he sure loved looking at the camera. Happy one year, Everett!

I was happy to take Tyler’s one year photos while he and his parents were back in town from Vegas! Although, sometimes I want to just press a “slow down” button when parents come to me asking to take their kiddo’s 1 year photos — didn’t I JUST take their newborn, 6 month, etc. photos!? 😉 Where does the time go? It was nice to have his grandparents along too, as I know the whole family. Tyler is a blond hair, blue-eyed cutie who is now on the move — he’s been walking since 9 months! He had all kind of emotions going, but the best part was seeing his happy expressions, especially when his favorite music was played. This little guy has got rhythm! 😉 There was some dancin’, flower pickin’, cake eatin’ and lastly, a BUBBLE bath to wash a way the mess.

I had been looking forward to seeing this family again after I photographed Andrew for the first time just a few months ago at nine months. This time, we celebrated his first birthday, plus, it was his daddy’s first Father’s day, so even more special. 🙂 Andrew has the cutest smile and is now a fan of waving and clapping his hands. He was treated with a yummy cake just his size, and although a little timid about it at first, he didn’t hesitate to dig right in once he realized how delicious it was. Here’s a peek at some adorableness!
elizabeth & josh {siblings}
Although I love my older sister, I kind of always thought it would be fun to have a brother, so, it’s a good thing I married into a family with 2 of them! I photographed two adorable kiddos recently, Josh and Elizabeth, and it is always cute to see how two siblings, specifically an older brother and younger sister, interact. I must say, these two are opposite when it comes to being in front of the camera. Josh loved giving me the biggest smiles (along with his first missing tooth!), and Elizabeth was more about the serious look and running away. 🙂 Of course age plays a role in this too, but, it is always so fun to see little personalities come out so young. I always find that peek-a-boo wins every child’s heart (and smile). 😉
natalie {2 years}
Another year gone by and wow has she grown! Our daughter, Natalie, is 2 years old today! She is a perfect combination of sweet and sassy and is definitely developing the vocabulary to display those characteristics. 😉 She has so much spunk, curiosity of the world, and love (for her friends/family, Cat and The Hat, Dinosaur Train, her puppies, “special treats” — amongst other things that are really important in a toddler world). We are so proud of the little lady she is already becoming and so happy to be celebrating her big day today! 🙂
andrew {9 months}
After his parents were referred to me by my mother-in-law (thanks, Rose!), we set up a time to take some photos of this sweet little boy, Andrew, who is 9 months old! I really enjoyed getting to know his parents — they both are super sweet and I felt like we had already had multiple sessions together prior to this. 🙂 Considering that this was one of Andrew’s first times in a photo studio setup, he did so good! Smiles were plentiful, and we found that he was most comfortable with minimal clothing, shaking a maraca or riding his plane or horse. Without those distractions, he was definitely using his crawling abilities to try and escape at times. 😉 Here’s a peek at this blue-eyed cutie pie!
